When I first needed a thru-axle adapter for my Specialized Roubaix, I skipped the Kinetic price and went for a competitive half-price version. resulted in imperfect alignment between the machine mounts and the axle. Probably nothing special in practice, but it looked awkward, like a cow on a crutch. Eventually, the tip of the small spindle that connected the machine's drive coupling to the axle broke off. Again, it's probably not a big deal, but for the price I didn't risk my safety or that of the bike. This Kinetic product is rock solid. The end of the axle on the non-drive side is shaped to serve as a connection to that side of the machine. On the drive side, the axle goes through a notch so you can bolt a second clutch on top. At 142mm my Roubaix and Diverge require a spacer between the dropout and the sleeve to prevent the threads from protruding through the sleeve. All the details look a little intimidating at first, but thanks to the helpful video and guide it all makes sense once you have the details at hand AND have the benefit of learning from your existing "road alignment".
