This is a pretty good pair of wire strippers at a really good price! The quality is really good and I can easily cut and strip wires. The cutting part is not the biggest. I would use a pair of wire cutters to cut larger wires as these wire strippers don't seem to fully cut 12 gauge wire. After that I had to cut the wires with wire cutters. But they are great for stripping wires! UPDATE: May 5, 2019 --------------- I installed new 12 AWG Monoprice pure copper stranded wire on April 26th. The wire stripper quickly cuts through the plastic jacket of 12AWG wire. However, you must be very careful as the cables may not be completely round and if the wire stripper cuts through the plastic it may sever some of the outer strands. Wire cutters are sharp. So I twisted the cable, cut pieces of plastic until I cut off most of the plastic, and then pulled. So I have 99-100% of the strands intact. I still give this wire shackle 4 stars as it does its job well and the price is worth it.
