Received the hood lifters just as I was told they would arrive. Were on the 2004 Volvo XC90. You will need a person to hold the hood until you have at least one working lift leg installed. Removing the old supports is easy, a flathead screwdriver and a small clip comes loose. It is almost impossible to remove the small clip from the new supports without bending the clip. There are two clips for each strut, one on top and one on the bottom, which are bent into four new clips by simply removing them. I end up using clips from old hood lifter brackets. Gets the job done in about 10 minutes. Fits perfectly and works with no problems. I've looked at the 'old clips' on the new supports, they fit the same and nothing indicates they will come loose. The hood pops open at the end of the day and stays open all night. These brackets are of good quality and I expect them to last for years even with daily use and even under the weight of the Volvo bonnet which is not light.
