🔧 BOXI 2pcs Front Hood Lift Supports Shocks Struts for Volvo XC90 2003-2012, SG315014, 30649736 Review

Easy install. Removed and inserted new ones in less than 2 minutes on my Volvo XC90. All I needed was a flathead screwdriver to loosen the latch spring and a rod to hold the hood open while I removed the old struts. I previously installed the same pillars for the rear window hatch. Better than the originals when new and at a very affordable price.

Judging by the description it was originally broken; The bottom piece that fits over the piece has unscrewed and is too loose to fit the rest of the rack. On the rack box, the label clearly stated that the kit was used, but this essential fact was not mentioned in the description in the online listing. Returned it and bought a slightly more expensive pair that I've had good experiences with in the past.

The elevators work, but the pair have distinctly different strengths. This may not matter for some applications, but I have found that the lid puckers slightly when opened. Elsewhere is the problem, my XC90 has right and left hood latches and the weaker side latches first when you lower the hood. The latches are aligned and the hood is fine, the problem was only with these lifters. I would send them back if I didn't need them on the hood right now. What a relief! The old bars failed randomly and more severely, falling on my head at the slightest draft. These replacement brackets fit perfectly and installation (removing the old one and installing the new one) was easy (thanks YouTube). Now my front hood goes up slightly and stays up until I want to lower it. The price in the Revain was pretty reasonable compared to what the local parts store was charging for a similar pair. Received the hood lifters just as I was told they would arrive. Were on the 2004 Volvo XC90. You will need a person to hold the hood until you have at least one working lift leg installed. Removing the old supports is easy, a flathead screwdriver and a small clip comes loose. It is almost impossible to remove the small clip from the new supports without bending the clip.
