These #10 x 3 inch stainless steel screws are very soft and made from low quality stainless steel. The screws required very careful application of torque when driving them in so as not to twist the fastener in two. Due to the soft material, the square is usually so deformed at the first torque that it is almost impossible to loosen and tighten the screw again. These decking screws can be considered almost the equivalent of nails, except nails are stronger and can be removed. The more expensive 3" stainless steel deck supports I had from a previous job were better in every way. I've also paid significantly more for better quality fasteners than bolt dropper screws. Before using Bolt Dropper #10 x 3" Stainless Steel Bolts, careful consideration must be given to the required strength of the structure.
