I'm not a techie, but as far as I can tell, Destruct Pro completely cleaned my old computer's (HP Envy) hard drive, allowing me to get rid of it without worrying about that hard drive information could be compromised. It will erase everything including the operating system and boot options. This took about a day and a half. Once I figured out what to do, it started without any action on my part. The guide with Destruct Pro was lacking in detail for non-specialists like me, but I finally took the opportunity to plug Destruct Pro into the USB port of my completely shut down computer and then boot the computer from Destruct Pro. You'll need to go online to figure out what key to press (esc, F9, etc.) to get to your computer's boot menu. I played around a bit but ended up choosing the right one and Destruct Pro just did its job.
