You'll never want to use standard mirrors again

Let me address that first. WARNING: YOU HATE RETURNING TO STANDARD MIRROR AFTER THIS USE! These mirrors have a much wider and higher field of view. To go back to my standard mirrors when I close the doors again I feel like my vision is limited. I had high hopes for these mirrors and they far exceeded them. They are very easy to assemble and also very easy to install and remove on the jeep. I recommend using Loctite (Blue 242) on the Phillips head screws that attach the mirrors to the brackets. DO NOT USE LOCTITE ON THE SCREWS THAT ATTACH THE MIRRORS TO THE JEEP! The only thing I'm concerned about with these mirrors is wear on the stock bolts that attach them to the Jeep. I always take extra care when inserting the screws so that they are not cross-threaded and the screwdriver is seated securely in the head of the screw to prevent over-tightening. The only thing I would do to improve on these mirrors is add a mountable release bracket to the jeep instead of mounting the mirrors directly to the jeep each time. I'm not sure how that's going to be accomplished, but it would be easier for me to put them on and take them off as often as I do. EAG also makes tubular doors that include these mirrors (no mounting bracket). My friend fell in love with my mirrors but decided to spend the extra money to get the EAG doors. Finally, I borrowed and tested the tube doors when he got them, so I was the one who had to assemble them. I had already removed the OEM doors and fitted these mirrors so I was curious if the EAG doors would fit without removing them. THEY DO! THEY FIT! The gap between the upper edge of the door and the lower edge of the mirror is just big enough to allow the doors to be fitted, fully utilized and removed again without any problems. When installing EAG tubular doors, attention must be paid to the correct angle, otherwise the hinge bolts cannot seem to reach the hinge brackets. However, I still hated the doors and gave them to him the next day. They weren't too difficult to assemble, but no matter how hard I tried to adjust the alignment, one of the doors never fitted properly and had to be slammed very hard for it to even engage.

Pros
  • Easy to assemble
Cons
  • There are even more interesting options.
