This cordless phone system works great. Bought for my mother in law and she is finally happy. When we first got it the wall wart went to the extension cord and because it was so close to the base the zip tie didn't need to be removed so I just left it rolled up into a small neat bun. . Big mistake! The phones were constantly being jammed, even near the base. I found that the power cord is also a base antenna. So leaving it rolled up in its packaging will result in poor reception and lots of static electricity. As soon as I removed the cord from the power cord and pulled it to its full length, the static dissipated and the range and reception increased significantly. I discovered this through trial and error, didn't see any reference to it in the manual, but I may have missed it.
