I needed a mouse and got this because it has LED backlight. almost like any other mouse I've used, including well-known brands. And mice wear out, cheap or branded. Generally at work I move the mouse for about a year, they usually start doing things like registering a click as a double click and need to be replaced. I always go with what's cheaper or what the job gives me, so I usually compare it to other mice that cost less than $10. I can usually find a mouse for four bucks somewhere and this one for ten, so I think that's a lot more for an LED. Features: This is an optical mouse, not a trackball. It has left and right buttons. Has a caterpillar wheel. It has an LED backlight, which is pretty decent. Colors are about as vibrant as product photos and videos, but since the mouse is black and the LED color is just a small bar, it's not a lot of LEDs. However, my kids (eldest aged 8) enjoyed it. The LED lamp has a mode switch. This is an additional small button with a glowing icon that you can see in the product photos. One of the product images lists the modes. These are Rainbow Light Stream, Rainbow Breath, Neon and Floating Light. Basically, the speed at which the light changes varies slightly from mode to mode, and then some modes will pulse in color while others will launch it from an edge of the mouse, and then the color will move across the outside of the mouse. . You can also use the mode button to set the fifth mode, which turns off the LED backlight. So you can disable it if you want. This will likely come in handy when watching a movie or doing something else where the light might deflect. It doesn't look like a gaming mouse or anything like that. I think it's a regular office mouse with LED lights inside. All in all, this is a good basic mouse. As a mouse, it works perfectly. It's a bit more money for LED lighting but my kids loved it and it's thin enough for the LED to work and work.
