My circuit breaker main board uses these and similar ones for the whole house. Only 4 yesterday, the same with the garage door opener. Last week one for my garage door (that's the one plug in the house) kept tripping when the temp went over 100F. After the 3rd reset in a row I plugged an extension cord into the door opener. Guess he didn't turn that switch off for a week, on days with temperatures over 100Β°. When I went to my local hardware stores, yes several stores, I couldn't find the Siemens QPF version and the salespeople were useless as they didn't know what I needed and didn't have it in stock. Not wanting to use another brand like Murry or GE and risk it not fitting or worse, I decided to order these. This is the correct type according to the instructions on the switch box door and fits perfectly. Simply turn off the switch, make sure there is no power, loosen the screws holding the two main wires and the ground screw holding the long white wire that is part of it, then pull the switch out. A new one came in, the ground wire cut to length, connected first, then the white and black wires inserted and tightened. Switch turned on and garage door opener connected. For two weeks without any problems. Also, this one is a lot cheaper, about $20 less than local stores.
