I bought this for under a thin area rug. It works perfectly! It’s nice and thick, and feels great to walk on. And it keeps the rug from slipping on our hardwood floor. The only problem (and it’s not really that big of a deal) is that there is a small hard spot in one corner. When you walk on it, it feels like something is under the rug. The first time I stepped on it, I thought there was a Lego under the rug. When I lifted up the rug to investigate, I discovered that the felt had a thickened spot, probably a slight flaw from manufacturing. Like I said, it’s not really a big deal, and the rest of the pad is great.
