I see many complaints about them. I personally love them. They fit perfectly with the certified Arca mounting plate. Some slabs are deeper, some are shallow. Please check the depth before purchasing. This discourages you from returning them. I use Colorado ball heads and two other Arca certified Giotto hydraulic head mounts and they work with them too. They are durable and the flip ring works as intended. The trick is not to overtighten. Too many people think it should be airtight. If your plate is rubber or cork, you don't need to tighten it heavily. If you're trying to replace cheap tripod plates, they can fail if they fit properly. The lesson is to use a standardized attachment system like Arca and it should work fine for your application.
