Review on Transform Your Analog Devices: AVerMedia ET111 Video Adapter Converts Composite/RCA/AV to HDMI Output by James Cross

ET113 Component Video Adapter works great for Nintendo Wii

Since the TVs only work over HDMI and don't have YPbPr inputs, I needed something to play the Nintendo Wii with the new TVs. I have an official Nintendo component connector for Wii. I connected the component connector to the TV's HDMI input using this AVerMedia video adapter (ET113) and a standard HDMI cable, and also connected the USB power adapter to the back of the Samsung TV. The results are very good. Resolution well preserved. Everything runs smoothly with no screen shakes or bugs. Rating: 10/10 Sound: The sound is transmitted well. I played it for hours and had no audio glitches, no buzzing, no crackling or popping, and no audio dropouts. Just pure, smooth stereo sound from a stereo source. Rating: 10/10. Delay: I don't have a meter to measure the delay. However, I've played games with it and haven't noticed any lag. Rating: I notice no lag/10 deviations: I tested both 480p progressive scan and 480i interlaced modes with my Wii and its YPbPr cable. The converter successfully converted both signals to digital audio and video and output them to a 1080p TV via a single HDMI cable. The TV indicates that the signal being received is 480p or 480i, depending on the Wii's settings, which means that the ET113 is only converting the signal from analogue to digital and not to a higher resolution scaled up. So your TV's job is to upscale that signal to 1080p. This is fine on most TVs if your TV supports 480 resolution. I haven't tested 240p signals with it, but since it doesn't upscale I don't think it will work properly with most 240p retro gaming TVs. I haven't tested it to know for sure, but if that's what you're looking for, I'd recommend an upscaler like the RetroTINK-2X, which makes old NES games work great on modern TVs (but can't pass 480p signals through). ironically works the same as the Wii, so for people like me who want a signal converter in its purest form, the ET113 is perfect). I connected a 480i composite signal from a VHS player to the Y (green) section of the ET113 and nothing seemed to happen. If you want to use a 480i composite cable, you should buy ET111 instead. Rating: 9/10 This is perfect for my needs and appears to be very well made. I gave 10 out of 10 points for the first month of use. If there are any problems with the device, I will update this review. But so far everything works great.
