    It's not an upscaler

    It definitely works for what I use it for. The only problem I have with this product is that it is not an upscaler. In fact, it's just a transcoder. I have an HDMI component and it works with any source that is 480i and higher. The downside to this is that 240p sources are not compatible with this device, which is really disappointing.     This device serves its purpose. I emphasize that this is a simple adapter, not an upscaler. High-end devices tend to be larger and much more expensive.     retro games? Yes it works!

    Video to HDMI Converter works great. There was a CSRET Composite AV to HDMI Video Audio Mini Converter Adapter on Revain and it was a joke, I struggled with it every time I used it, plus terrible picture quality. This one works great. I use it for my N64 and PlayStation. The one that connects to the video switcher that also connects to this converter and then to the secondary HDMI jack on my XBox One works great.     The aspect ratio works as it should. For example, if you put a VHS tape into this thing, black bars will appear on the left and right. The image is not stretched to fill the entire screen. Cheaper adapters stretch the image so everything looks distorted. So if your original video is in the old 4:3 aspect ratio, you can use this device to watch it on a standard 16:9 widescreen display.     ET113 Component Video Adapter works great for Nintendo Wii

    Since the TVs only work over HDMI and don't have YPbPr inputs, I needed something to play the Nintendo Wii with the new TVs. I have an official Nintendo component connector for Wii. I connected the component connector to the TV's HDMI input using this AVerMedia video adapter (ET113) and a standard HDMI cable, and also connected the USB power adapter to the back of the Samsung TV.
