What if the band could stretch up to 14 feet? What good is it if the tape bends at 8 feet and eventually fails? This happened to mine. The tape also warps (sticks as in past tense) if pulled too quickly. If you pull and pull it out quickly, it would wiggle about 3-4 feet. Most of the time I have to bend and fold the tape a bit, inside of course, and it's kind of a mess now. The blade seems good, but it's a bit difficult to prepare when you read steps in feet. The whole number is highlighted in neon yellow, the center is the location, and exactly 1/2 inch before and after are clear colored lines on the tape. It takes some time to learn and understand where integers and fractions are. Definitely looking for a replacement, maybe a Milwaukee, Stanley or Craftsman. At least they have a guarantee.
