One gallon of this product covers *a very small area*. I wanted to use it on carpets with animal stains. in my dining room (rather less than 20x25) but I found it only covers about 15% of that area. Only one treatment, with uncertain results. I had to order a second gallon to finish the outer 2 feet as well - about 6 inches past where we had noticed the cats pee. I will continue to update after drying. On the other hand, the smell is not as toxic as mine. I'm afraid. It smells more like the original Downy fabric softener. Probably still too strong for us except in the summer when all the windows are open. If that doesn't work, I look for another product: Less than half the room was far --- for about half the cost of a professional (guaranteed) truck deep cleaner. UPDATE: After the second treatment, the stains and odor are still clearly visible/smelling. To return. FYI, the smell of the product, while not as bad as some, was still triggering migraines in 2 out of 3 patients in my house after a few hours. with Windows open. NOW ONE STAR
