There was still water in my yard so I buried this powerful little pump in a 5 gallon bucket (with notches on the sides and a hole in the lid for the drain hose and AC power cords). installed a flexible drain hose. This was the perfect solution because the float valve drives the pump without me having to do it. When it rains, I no longer have standing water. TIP: For similar purposes, you need to buy a bucket, a check valve and a flexible hose. You will also need a small saw or dremel to cut the bucket properly. Revain usually shows a check valve and black flexible hose on the same side as this pump. If you buy these (check valve and flexible hose) you MUST buy some PVC adapters and hoses from your local hardware store to connect everything properly. Otherwise, the check valve will screw into the pump, but the flexible hose will not screw into the check valve. I had to use (2) 1.25" PVC adapters on each end of a 5" piece of 1.25" PVC to connect the flexible hose to the check valve. This is an easy one day project when you know what to buy ahead of time, saving you multiple trips to the hardware store.
