I just received these dampers and found them in Monroe packaging. When I opened the Monroe boxes, I found that one of the shock absorbers had a few scratches on the paint and that the reflective sticker was not properly attached. The other shock had no reflective sticker at all. Both shock absorbers have rust spots on the inside of the steel cover. It's been a while since I've bought shock absorbers so maybe that's ok, but if I'm paying for a new product I should get this. I think to install them or return the goods. The boxes were sealed at the factory. I can handle minor paint scratches and decals, but do I really want to bother installing a product that may be secondary and may have more flaws than cosmetics. I gave this one star simply because of the crypticity and uncertainty of installing these particular shocks. UPDATE: I chose to fit shocks and they are fantastic. A firmer ride compared to factory dampers as well as less body roll in corners and reduced body roll under hard braking. Definitely worth the money and a few scratches. The star rating will increase to four. Hey, the scratches are still there!
