This is the best adapter you can buy for your 2017 "Pro" Donglebook The build quality and finish are second to none Far superior to those available on the market, including OWC, and the quality (build and looks) is arguably Apple's standard. Mine works fine, but I'm deducting a star (maybe later) as it gets too hot when I plug in the power adapter, two Bluetooth mice/keyboards, and VGA (using an HDMI to VGA adapter). How much heat is too much? It can melt the wax, and if you touch it while you're working, fine. it's like touching melted wax :-). I brought it in after reading the negative reviews on Amazon and found the support team to be surprisingly eager to protect their brand (which is nice). I don't mind high operating temperatures as long as it continues to function properly. For an $80 product, it's fair game if it works for at least a year. However, I'm a little worried about how long those tiny electronic components inside will continue to heat up. I will write to batchespro if this is normal operating temperature or if I have received a defective item. PS: BTW, when I opened my adapter, it had a little tiny scratch next to one of the USB ports, something like causes if someone tries to insert the adapter the wrong way around, maybe it happened while testing? EDIT 2/17/2018: I had to return this due to a heat issue despite all the initially good specs. I think this product's Achilles' heel is its HDMI port - it just gets too hot. This device operates within the allowable temperature range when HDMI is not connected/used. I used a gold plated HDMI to VGA adapter from VicTsing (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B016HL4CAY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and I'm not sure if this is the caused heat. However, there are several reviews where customers complain about similar heating problems. Heat caused screen flickering on external monitors after a few minutes of use. I downgraded the rating to three stars - one star removed due to overheating issues and another for no response to my email from Charlie and Jenny. When not using the HDMI port, the device has no overheating issues and seems to do well in almost every other category. For my Electronic Donglebook (Pro) I bought a new product - Kingston Nucleum (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076BGJXTG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and the heat issues seem to be gone . I encountered another issue: I had no problems connecting to Wi-Fi when using Kingston Nucleum, while when using Chargenpro my Wi-Fi connection dropped intermittently for about 30 seconds. I think possible Wi-Fi interference is explained on the chargenpro website, but my router runs at 5GHz, so that's another issue I couldn't solve. However, this company seems to be trying to make premium products, and I'm personally looking forward to their Qi WIRELESS CHARGER STAND, which is expected to be released later this month, or a Mac-compatible keyboard/mouse if they plan to release it at any time .
