Review on πŸ”§ Stretch Installer by Drake Off Road by Robert Dabney

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Worked on my E70 BMW X5 3.0

The BMW belt tensioner tool is $150 so I wanted to find a cheaper tool to install a new A/C belt on our 2010 X5 3.0. Some said this tool worked while others said it didn't fit the pulley. I think both were right. I could use it, but probably not in the way it was originally intended. I placed the belt over the crankshaft pulley and then aligned the belt on the "install side" of the tool and started at the bottom of the air conditioner pulley. I held the tool on the pulley with my left hand and turned the crankshaft (bolt 22 m) with my right hand. The belt was on when the tool reached the top of the pulley. It wasn't properly aligned on the A/C pulley, but I was able to move it into the correct groove by continuing to rotate the crankshaft and pushing the belt further onto the A/C pulley with a flat head or small lever bar. The $15 did Well worth it as I don't expect to change the belt in the years to come.
