This vacuum cleaner has many interesting features. I'll start with the basic modes of operation. When a hose is connected to the top vacuum port, the air is extracted through a fairly large reusable filter bag. (The unit comes with one bag installed, and an extra one is included. The bag appears to be trademarked, so you'll likely have to rely on the manufacturer for a replacement.) After passing through the filter bag, air becomes sucked through the lower tank, through the vacuum motor and out through the HEPA filter. If desired, you can pour a few inches of water into the lower pan. This blows air through the water to remove fine dust. A second vacuum port is located on the front of the unit. Remove the plug from this hole and insert it into the top hole. The front opening is for liquid intake. You must replace the HEPA filter with the supplied foam filter. You can also use the front vacuum port to collect dry items by slipping a paper filter bag over the inner fitting of the bottom port. Disposable filter bags are not supplied but I have found the bags for my ShopVac vacuum to fit this unit. Like many "premium" shop vacuums, this one has an electrical plug in the front. You can plug an instrument in there and the vacuum will turn on and off automatically when you turn the connected instrument on and off. There are also NPT air fittings on the top of this vacuum cleaner. The idea is that you can plug in an air tool that will have air flowing through the vacuum and the vacuum will cycle on and off as you use the air tool. In addition to the "normal" vacuum hose, this kit contains a second hose with an integrated air hose. With this special hose you can collect dust and supply air to your compressed air tool. Connecting a vacuum to anything other than the manufacturer-supplied accessory can be challenging. The hoses that come with the unit use a proprietary connector on the end of the vacuum. The included hoses are only about 6 1/2 feet long. For many purposes, a longer hose is more convenient. I also wanted to be able to pair this vacuum with a Rockler dust collector. This picks up most of the dust and dirt and saves a lot of vacuum cleaner bags. The hose attachment for this vacuum is patented, but the hose itself is commonly used in 1 1/4" stock. The kit includes an extra fitting that screws onto the end of a third-party hose. I had a longer spare hose, which I bought for the ShopVac branded appliance I have replaced the existing connector with the extra one that came with this appliance The tool end of the hose that came with it works with the ShopVac accessory and vice versa I can now use this vacuum with the various adapters that I have to my power tools. As I said, the vacuum hose is shorter than I would like. About 10 feet would be ideal for me. but I got around that. The kit includes a metal extension tube. I like that the Length is adjustable but the max length is too short for me.I'm 5ft 11" tall and bend down to use a floor mount to use. This vacuum cleaner has stepless speed control. On the lowest setting, this machine is very quiet. At its highest setting, it's like a typical store-bought vacuum — in other words, it's noisy. The attached handle is convenient for moving the device and the handle folds for storage. The components of the vacuum itself appear to be good. - Quality made. The accessories are a bit better than what you might get with a home center vacuum - useable but not great. The documentation of the user manual leaves a lot to be desired. It is incomplete and poorly translated. Bad documentation harms a good product. The video in the product promotion reveals features not listed in the user manual. A small investment in quality documentation would help. All in all, this is a good addition to my workshop.
