Review on Tungsten Carving Polish Drill Engrave by Dang Esq

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Set of 20 in body, 3mm small head, tungsten carbide, 1/8 " shank - 10 each single and double cut burrs

for smoothing and shaping the part I'm working on. This is a very well done one Set of 10 small double cut router bits and 10 small single cut router bits with 1/8" shanks for use in my rotary tool. The head size is quite small with a maximum diameter of 3mm. The listing has great close ups of the head profiles. See pictures of the set. They are best used with soft jewelry metals such as silver, gold or platinum as well as brass, copper and softer metals. Burr life is increased with the use of wax lubrication. They can be used on ferrous metals but burr life may be reduced shortened, even when made of tungsten carbide, and their small size limits their suitability for machining hard metal llen one. They are great on softer metals with light pressure at high speed and with lube wax. They can also be used to mold plastic. They are quite small and therefore much more brittle than larger cutters. TS is brittle and mostly inflexible. LIGHT PRESSURE at high speed is the key to using them! I capped the durability and longevity rating to 4 stars due to their small size and TC's natural tendency to crack if overused. I would not use them on wood as additional heat is generated and the chip gap is limited by the build up of natural wood resin. although the manufacturer lists wood as one of the materials they can be used on. The burrs are quite rough, they might work for wood, I wouldn't use them that way, but for very fine sculptural engraving they might work. I don't do this type of work, so I can't say for sure. Safety above all! I recommend this carbide burr set from ORAPXI Store. For fine detail work, he has a large selection of tiny carbide milling cutters at an excellent price-performance ratio.
