Dangerous Design - Best in Home Fans

TLDR: CHEAP FAN, SAFETY HAZARD - ESPECIALLY FOR YOUNG CHILDREN Bought this fan and was initially happy with it, poorly suited during surgery despite some of the cheap plastic components . Assembly. I switched it on and felt it had good utility at a relatively low price. The first irritations came at night with the fan when the cheap plastic started to rattle. The fan is already quite loud, which made it difficult to fall asleep. A few days later there was a big disappointment that made me write this review. When I loosened the clamping mechanism to lower the fan's height, the top half of the fan collapsed, leaving an inch-long cut on my finger. Less than a second elapsed between the time I released the button and the heavy weight of the top half of the fan falling onto the hand I used to release it. I even considered getting stitches as the cut was quite deep and bled for over 30 minutes. I understand that this event could have been prevented if I had known I would be holding/supporting the top half of the fan when I released the support mechanism. It's not my personal cut that worries me, but the fact that if a child relaxes the same grip I did (it's about 1 foot off the ground) there's a good chance they could lose their finger as a result of the event. The fan is poorly made and dangerously designed.
