Review on 🚰 Robertshaw IMV708 Refrigerator Water Valve for Whirlpool, Kitchenaid, Kenmore (Original Version) by Robert Staten

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Universal fit and magnet/coil! Replacing the coil on other models!

I have an Amana refrigerator and noticed that my ice cube shape was deteriorating. So I replaced the tray and then the water doesn't fill the ice cube tray with water. I looked around for a replacement valve and found it to cost anywhere from $40-$90 and thought how unacceptable that I couldn't just replace the spool myself! and I figured I would just "steal" a coil from him and put it on my valve. My theory turned out to be correct and it worked great! Pictures: 1. My green coil was defective and had no continuity. The green spool of the Robertshaw article here at Revain was not a suitable substitute, instead the red spool was a suitable one. I replaced the Robertshaw red with my valve and it worked great. To do this, the metal had to be bent and the "Robertshaw" actually had to be broken. In the photo it is red (but it looks very orange in the picture). This "Robertshaw" fits perfectly with my Amana "TR21VW" fridge model. Other models it should work well with would just be models with this ice tray: (part number WPW10190929 (AP6016623) replaces 14211407, 2255835, 627815, 627997, 628189, 628228, 628315, W10122527, W10190929) wrong size for my valve.
