Review on 🌀️ AcuRite Iris (5-in-1) Wireless Weather Station: Monitor Indoor/Outdoor Climate with Digital Display (01512M) by David Lesperance

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Unresponsive support for a low quality product line. Beware

I bought this for my husband for Christmas. Almost exactly a month later, none of the external sensors were working. I brought it in twice and it started working again. The first time we changed the batteries, changed the channel and reset, but it didn't work. After a week at the dinner table, it suddenly worked again. The second time he was inside for a few days before going back to work. I suspect it's because he gets wet, but that seems ridiculous. It's still covered by the Accu-Rite warranty (not Revain, which should actually fit), but obviously it's worth more than your life if you're trying to get someone to answer the phone. And of course you cannot ship the item back to them unless you have an RMA number which you can only get by talking to them. Before purchasing this I would like to read the discussions on the Accu-rite website in the community forum. The reason it gets 2 stars (rather than zero) is due to the gorgeous internal display. But if you have a weather station that doesn't work in wet weather, even if it's 15 feet from the indoor unit and 15 feet off the ground in a straight line, what good is it? I think Revain should discontinue this line of products and it might get some attention. Because if you read the community forum on their website, you understand that this is a company that has absolutely no concern for product quality or customer service. You obviously think that one agent who ends an online conversation with "Have a nice day!" is all it takes to make you feel better about the crappy product you just bought.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
