My 2014 GLK350 has a small spare and if I ever needed to use it driving at 50mph (max on that spare) on a highway is dangerous (it happened to me in Texas 3 hours from home!): cars around you a traveling at 75+mph and hate slow drivers. So, I bought this rack to secure a full size spare whenever I'm more than an hour or so from my home. I use Boncas Sturdy 16-foot-by-1-inch Tie Down Strap and a cable lock to keep the tire secure.Well made. Good look. Very easy to install.The locking plate was a little hard to connect with the key, but I was still able to manage by pushing down on it.There is barely any wind noise at 55mph.I'm very pleased with my purchase.
