Review on Satin Nickel Tylo Entry Combo Set by Kwikset 96900-381 690T 15 SMT BBPKG by Malik Berry

Does not work with older Kwikset keys. I bought smart key locks so I can replace them with many of the existing Kwikset entry keys I already have for many of the same KS entry locks I have now. The smart key and lock may look like the 40 year old KS keys and locks, but they are THIN. The smart key fits old existing locks. Old keys do not fit the Smart Lock. Here is my problem. I can't replace my new lock with my old keys because they don't fit in the lock. IF I cut a new key from my old lock key it will fit the Smart Key lock so I can use the new key in old locks. So I would have to pay for at least 1 new key to fit my old locks and then have the smart lock redesigned to fit. Not too bad so far, only 1 key cut. Unfortunately, MANY keys I have for those old locks won't even fit the new Smart Lock. In my case I would have to find many existing key holders and replace them with new keys. I'm just going to buy a normal set of old style locks and rebuild them to fit my old keys. If they made the new keys the same or thicker it wouldn't be a problem, but they wouldn't sell as many replacement locks or keys. I hope this explains what I had to find out the hard way. KS must make this clear on packaging and advertising. much luck
