My husband actually used this set so I'm relaying exactly what he told me. His first comment was technically, "That's bad." I understood it meant five stars :). So he started by drilling a 1" hole in a 1/8" cold steel rod. ** First he called the company to find out how to do it. They told him what to do - basically use lube, move slowly and be patient. I would of course recommend calling the company yourself to get instructions directly from them. However, he used an electric hand drill (not battery powered) and it worked well. He said it would be better to use a drill, but he doesn't have one. He then drilled several holes in the metal office cabinets and said the drills went through them "like clockwork." To do this, he used a battery-powered manual Makita. In both cases, he says, the beats held up great and no longer sounded dull. He particularly liked the fact that the larger bits change quickly. Smaller ones are screwed on, but a quick exchange is not possible due to their size. Overall he is very happy with this set and said it was worth the price.
