Install solid wood door yourself for the first time. With this unit I made three bedrooms and a bathroom door. Easy to use for home projects. I liked that the device had two holes on the side where the latch assembly would normally screw on. Because of this, I first closed the door without a device, lined up the old striker that was still on the door sill, and drew two lines (top/bottom) where the faceplate of my new door would be flush with the striker. Then I placed the faceplate between the 2 lines and with a pencil filled in the circles where the 2 screws should go. Now attach this tool to the door by inserting 2 screws where the bezel should be and holding the yellow handle set in place. First I drilled large holes (starting on one side then finishing through the other to prevent splitting) then a smaller hole for the latch. I unscrewed the kit and was ready to install the grip. Try to drill as level as possible so the latch doesn't catch on the corner when you insert it. Anyone can install a handle with this tool. Has given me confidence in other skills to add to my repertoire.
