I have an RTX 2080ti. I connected the adapter to the GPU, started Oculus and put on the headset. I didn't see anything, but I heard the main screen loading. Removed the headset and started troubleshooting. Checked everything from USB device drivers to GPU firmware and motherboard firmware. Everything was updated but nothing worked. I then tried updating the firmware for the actual adapter, which you MUST DO MANUALLY. Windows Update cannot find the files needed to update the firmware. You need to go to Google Drive and download it there. Did this and the .exe didn't run. So more troubleshooting. This requires your monitor to be connected to this device and not to any other video output. Did that, ran the firmware updater and checked. Nothing. All I got was just clay. When troubleshooting, make sure to remove all other NON-Oculus connections between the onboard Oculus HDMI cable and your graphics card. I had the idea of unplugging the HDMI extension cable I was using, although when plugged into the HDMI port it works fine. This solved the problem. Troubleshooting took about 4 hours. This thing is very sensitive and there is not much information about it.
