Ever since I've been riding bikes with Presta style valves, I've had trouble with plastic caps breaking after so many miles/rides/hours in the sun. I'm sure it's a combination of three issues. I've always found a broken cap when checking air pressure and I personally love the caps on my bike. While many bike forums state that caps and eyebolts serve no purpose, I believe they add aesthetics to the bike and also keep the valve area clean when riding wet/muddy. fit normally. To date there are no problems. They bolt on tightly, and since they're metal, you don't have to worry about cracking. To be honest, they look like regular hats from over a foot away. A 10 pack covered my current 2 bikes with 5 spares (I have a mountain bike and a recumbent trike so 5 covers). I feel like a set of 10 should be $3, but if it saves me the hassle of replacing the plastic parts every few months, they're probably worth the extra cost. Excellent caps, normal price, work as they should. I would buy them again but mine looks like it will last a long time!
