I used this cable to transfer audio from an Apple TV 4K via HDMI Audio Extractor (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KRWYN4R?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details) to my MOTU Ultralite sound card, which I use. for controlling stereo monitors. It works great, the sound is much better than a high quality Bluetooth device. Keep in mind that if you're using a splitter to extract audio from HDMI, you can't use the Apple TV's volume/mute controls because audio extraction from HDMI is pretty choppy. :)
