This is less a review of the vacuum cleaner and more its MAIN design issue. I only had one day and used it on a carpet. In that regard, it has more suction power than the 10-year-old Shark Navigator. But in my opinion and the usefulness of the product - it completely fails. Half of my living space is covered with solid wood floorboards. On the old Navigator, when switching from carpet to wood, you could turn off the hammer so it wouldn't hit the tree and possibly scratch it. The new rotator sweeper doesn't let you turn the beater off (although the switch on the handle has a "hard floor" setting). Therefore, out of the box, this sweeper is useless for cleaning hard surfaces! What a stupid design. HOWEVER, you can purchase an optional accessory specifically designed for hard surfaces. I didn't do my due diligence in reviewing this machine, assuming that a nearly $400 machine could do ALL floor coverings better compared to a $150 Shark Navigator. .This is a deal breaker. I will return it for a different brand sweeper.
