Received my S20 yesterday. Played 18 holes this morning. Needless to say I'm more impressed than I am even though I would be with him, especially after reading some of the reviews here. Here's my review: I opened the box and connected the S20 to my laptop using the USB cable that came with it. I already have a Garmin account set up and software on my computer because I also have a Vivoactive HR as a daily activity tracker. It updated to the latest firmware 2.80 fairly quickly and then started updating the course database. It was rather slow, but not exhausting. It took maybe 15-20 to update the courses. I let the S20 charge and then turned it off as I don't plan on wearing it as a casual watch. This morning I played 18 holes at the local course. This gave me the opportunity to test the S20. I went through the process of choosing the course I was playing and got a GPS fix for the S20. This process took maybe 1 minute total and was fairly unobtrusive. What impressed me the most was the course. The gauges were accurate. Always within one yard of course markers. I've used the AutoShot and Stick Tracking features and both have been mostly flawless. It automatically recognized every shot I made, not counting green chips and putts (which Garmin says it doesn't recognize, so I wasn't surprised by that). When you step onto the green, a prompt will automatically appear asking you to enter your score, number of shots and whether you hit the fairway. This whole process takes a total of 10 seconds. After I finish my 18 holes, I hit the final round button and tell it to save the round on my watch. I then opened up Garmin Connect to sync all of my lap information to my account. What was really cool was looking down the hole at the score and seeing how far I hit on each shot, where on the hole it landed and what type of club I was using. It also shows you the field scorecard, fairway hits, average shots per hole and average score over all your rounds. I'm a stats and data lover so I was really intrigued by this information. I would recommend this to anyone who asked. My personal experience has been great so far and I'm grateful that Garmin appears to have fixed the issues that seem to have plagued previous firmware versions. I hope Garmin only improves the S20 and look forward to seeing what features they add in the future.
