Review on Bubble Magus BM Curve Protein Skimmer Fish & Aquatic Pets by Wendy Benson

Bought this skimmer a while back but only recently put it into service due to building a new 75 gallon seawater tank. I've had it for about a month now. I have never owned a skimmer so I cannot compare to other brands. When I was looking for skimmers I wanted a very quiet and reliable skimmer. I have compared several skimmers and read various reviews on Bulk Reef Supply, Marine Depot and other sites. I chose this one because it's in the middle for the price (not too expensive, but not too cheap either). Based on the comments, they mentioned that the customer support was good and confirmed that the skimmer is quiet. As I said, I've had it for a month now and I can say the following. The skimmer is silent. As soon as I close the doors of the tank rack, I hardly hear anything. Even with the doors open, I hardly hear any noise. As for the height of the water, you need to make sure the water level is at least 9 inches. It was about 14 inches at first, and water was constantly pouring out of the top cover. I had to build a protein skimmer stand out of an egg crate and zip ties and now it works fine. I get a lot of brown mud. It arrived well packaged but the instructions are useless. There is no brochure on how to assemble and use this damn thing or anything else that highlights its properties. That's why I gave 4 instead of 5 stars. You have to guess your way around and watch a lot of YouTube videos. I'm not sure how the customer service is as I haven't had any issues with my skimmer so far.
