I have been using this sharpener for two years now. I'm a professional chef and I work on a boat. I sharpen all my kitchen knives with this tool. The sheath forms a very secure grip that protects your hand from the knife blade when pressing on the blade. I like "thin" and "rough" at the beginning of the file because it's hard to tell them apart. I sharpen at two angles, coarse for the high angle and fine for the last edge.
