Perfect for all my cups. I've used it for every cup I own except for very wide necks where you could get a huge, frothy cappuccino at a coffee shop. they are clearly too wide. It sits easily on my tiny Japanese teacups, looks beautiful with my fancy porcelain teacups, and works great on everyday coffee mugs. occasionally. My husband's lychee oolong, for example, is delicious, and you can see a few tiny black specks on the bottom of the cup. With a good tea leaf, however, that doesn't matter and doesn't detract from my tea enjoyment. Greens, blacks, most robio, mate, and herbs were mostly large enough to fit through the sieve. Again, small specks don't bother me that much, so I haven't shown much vigilance. However, I noticed it with an oolong. The colander looks beautiful on the table and the bowl it stands in is great for keeping things clutter free. Please note that it is not suitable for brewing tea. It's designed to catch loose leaf tea when you pour it from a teapot into a cup. This is not necessary with tea bags. I use it with both teapots; One has a built-in screen with large holes that allows smaller leaves to pass through, while the other has no screen at all. I've had this strainer for about a month and I don't think it will let me down any time soon. My only regret is that I didn't order it sooner. I've wanted it for over a year!
