The original factory remote has been fried. Use the included pairing tool that plugs into the car's OBD port, follow the instructions and everything works. Some complain that the remotes turn off over time. I will provide an update when this happens. At the moment I'm about two weeks into the setup and everything is still working fine. The remote control is IMO factory quality. The Dorman brand can be found in car dealerships like AutoZone or O'Reilly, so I trust this brand. Worth trying $50 for me not $150 from dealer. The only flaw is that the connection to the OBD connector is very tight and you need to use some force to disconnect it (without tearing off the OBD connector), pay attention to the small latch under the connector. Highly recommended.
