Review on Bruntmor 4-Quart Fire Red Cast Iron Moroccan Tagine | Cooking Pot with Silver Knob | Enameled Base and Cone-Shaped Ceramic Lid | Ideal for Baking, Frying | Oven and Dishwasher Safe by Derek Helvie

I'm so happy to be able to bring Morocco home!

So I know this isn't a 'traditional' tagine due to the use of cast iron, but damn it if it doesn't make the best chicken tagine! I couldn't bring the tajine with me when I was in Morocco but I was keen to cook the dishes when I got home. I've read countless stories about ceramic floors cracking and was dying to avoid this whole problem. Well problem solved this dish was so easy to use and very low maintenance. There is NO opening at the top so you really have to be careful how much liquid you add. I had to scoop tons to get it right within the allotted time after cooking. I was able to squeeze 8 chicken thighs tight (don't know how 1 reviewer got 10, sounds crazy to me). The meat was so tender and moist - just couldn't be happier with this product. I'll definitely keep it in the box when not in use as it's packaged pretty well. I had a delivery problem - the original order didn't arrive because it was really damaged (don't know how, this was all reported to me via Revain). But I spoke to the support team and easily fixed this issue. The second package arrived completely undamaged. If you'd rather cook with a tagine than a full pot, then this is for you!

Pros
  • MULTIFUNCTIONAL POT - The Tajine Iron Pot is made from high quality cast iron so it can withstand extreme temperatures and won't crack like other cast iron lids. Moroccan tagines can withstand temperatures of up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit in the oven.
Cons
  • Expensive Insurance
