I never write reviews but these socks were so terrible I had to. I used to buy Hanes socks all the time when they were cotton. These are fully synthetic/polyester socks. But they were soft. So I figured I'd keep them to myself and instead of wearing them outside (synthetic socks strangely chafe and heat my feet when paired with shoes), I wear them before bed when my feet get wet. I then tossed them in the wash like I do with all my clothes before I put them on. On soft. Cold water. With wollight. In a mesh underwear bag so I don't have to search for socks when washing. I then dried them on a gentle/low heat. When I went to put away my BRAND NEW, NEVER WORN socks, I saw that each sock was rubbed/coated with visible pills. They looked like I owned them and wore them for months/years. I've never owned a single item of clothing, let alone a pair of socks, that looked so bad before I put them on. In fact, I've never taken a sock pill. And last night I put on a pair to sleep in, and they deposited black fuzz (I bought the black version) on all my light-colored flannel sheets.
