Review on Chamberlain RJO20 Black - Wall Mounted myQ Controlled Smart Garage Door Opener: Ultra Quiet, Space Saving Direct Drive by Jason Staggs

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very quiet, relatively easy to install.

Like other easy installation, did it myself. I needed to add power like most. Also added a tree to the wall to support the opener. It took me 2 days. I took my time and made it look beautiful. The new outlet has surge protection. After thinking about buying a $95 Liftmaster backup battery, I decided to just buy an APC 450 for about $45 and do the same. Chamberlain has no management fees from the app. The wifi/phone app is not wireless, which means it doesn't connect wirelessly to the router and then to the phone. You don't have to run a network cable to the garage. Door opener and bridge/access point (provided by Chamberlain) communicate wirelessly. I have a backhaul mesh network and am connected to the nearest router so the Chamberlain Bridge/AP is only 30ft from the actual door opener and goes through 3 walls. The bridge/access point simply plugs into a power source near the router and connects to each other with an Ethernet cable. I don't think there will be a problem breaking in to open your garage door. It looks like the bridge acts like a remote control. The rolling code function secures the connection between the opener and the bridge. If your WiFi router is up to date, then everything is fine. This should be a pretty special attack just for your home. In this way, criminals do not waste time breaking into your home. They will just smash your door or a window after you leave. Just follow the instructions.
