This tool is designed and sold for driving in undercut nails. Stick to that goal. Some people have recommended it for driving nails into woodwork. In my experience it just doesn't have any accuracy for the 1 1/4"-1 3/4" pins used for precision casting. Instead of a concave head, the drive pin has a round head that allows the pin to move and flex toward the shaft. If you don't know how to use a hammer on small nails, you're better off borrowing a cordless screwdriver from your local tool rental shop. It may cost more, but you'll end up experiencing a lot less frustration and getting better results faster.
