I have a barn door that is just over 3/4 inch and I couldn't get the screw deep enough to tighten it. At first I thought I twisted the thread because it got tight. I ordered a second handle and found that it didn't and the screws weren't fully screwed in. I tried putting some oil on the bolt and it was always loose. I ended up using second grip discs to double and it worked. The product looks great but would not recommend if your barn door is less than 1" thick.
