This is the wetsuit you need when you have a skinny kid. It fit my average height son but was very thin allowing him to warm up during swim class in the YMCA's cold pool. Until I bought him this suit, he refused to take lessons. This suit is a whopping 3mm thick unlike most others I've seen for kids and fits snugly around skinny limbs and really keeps them warm. It was a turning point for us; My son, who used to cry before swimming lessons because he was so cold, now loves to swim. The size is correct if your child is of average height and slim. This is not a costume for a big child - even if you can put it on, you will have a problem taking it off if it gets wet. The suit is sturdy and well made. The stitching held up well through many rides in the YMCA's superchlorinated water. Rinse and dry after each use to keep color vibrant. Now we have a second suit as it has outgrown the first. I definitely recommend it.
