For a $100+ helmet, the light used is surprisingly poor. It barely registers, impossible to tell if it's on when it's upside down (yes it's so faint, I tried putting my hand on it to see the red reflection, nothing, myself when it was on and flashing). It is also very convenient to take with you for charging. The rest of the helmet is quite nice, seems well designed apart from the light. The locking system works well and is comfortable, and the ability to change the visor is nice. To be honest I would have paid an extra $30-$40 if they had nicer light. I would even prefer a wired flashlight with a USB socket in the helmet to charge if that means the actual light is better quality/brighter. Overall I'm not entirely disappointed, but if you buy this lightweight helmet, run, run, far, far. I'm really thinking about just filling the light hole with moldings and sticking a red reflective tape on top. It will probably be brighter than a flashlight, doesn't require a charger and I don't have to guess or take the whole helmet off to see if the flashlight works.
