Review on Gizmo Dorks Filament 2 2Lbs Printers by Brandon Addison

Excellent results! suitable for additive manufacturing products

Absolutely fantastic material. I would give this 6 stars if I could. I had some parts that bulged outward when lifted from the bed and tried everything to print them with clear ABS and TGlase. Shrinking with ABS - even with a heated case - continued to cause the perimeter of the part to pull in and up over the first 25 layers, making the curve at 45 straighter and actually allowing the layers to move up for the next layer in pressed the print head. It was a disaster. Best results with TGlase, but printing was slow and very expensive. I eventually switched to white (natural) HIPS, which eliminated about 95% of the problem, but at a loss in transparency. So I decided to try this clear PETG. Perfect results! No print shrinkage, perfect curves and excellent light transmission. Some very slight tension but much less than other PETG brands I've used in the past. Good layer adhesion. The diameter of the thread corresponds to 2.85-2.87 mm. Easy to use and great results. Note that when printed, this is "transparent" and not "transparent". Moves well in light but looks blurry or "dull" when printed with more than one shell. Printing on Lulzbot Mini with extruder at 240°C and bed at 70°C, no fan. Excellent layer adhesion when printing directly onto a PEI surface at 70°C, but when cooled to 50°C it peels off PEI very easily (much easier than ABS).

Pros
  • Recommended printing temperature: 230-260 C
Cons
  • Without automatic printing
