Application - Pilot bushing on a small Chevy engine block. This tool was useless to remove the bushing. Didn't stick to the sleeve, kept slipping out. The tool never broke, just didn't work as advertised. The "teeth" look like they were roughly cast and never trimmed to ensure a good grip on anything. Solution: Since the guide bushing was replaced, I didn't care what condition it came out in. A 5/8" threaded bolt that cuts into the pilot bushing. In the end, when it hit the bottom, it slightly pinched the sleeve. Simple and cheap, and doesn't require hitting the crankshaft with a deadbeat hammer. a such a simple solution after spending hours trying to get this tool to work.
