worked very well for tools and equipment

Used this puller to remove the pilot bearing from a Ford 4.6 liter 4v engine. Nothing to say other than it worked, built pretty solid would recommend it to anyone needing a pilot bearing replacement.

Needed for clutch replacement

Brass pilot bearings are easy to remove with a slide hammer puller or the old greasing method, but most modern cars have bearings that need to be pulled off evenly. This tool works great and appears to be of high quality and very well built.

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Just use it like any other standard puller

I've tried every method in the book to remove the pilot bearing. I bought this item and he removed it in seconds. It does not require a large space to use the hammer slide tool. Just use it like any other standard puller, a few turns of the wrench and you're done. Good product.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Quick Start Guide

Great tool, best in Tools & Equipment category

I used this for small bearings coming out of my 3/4" air gun. Since the U-shape of the tool was a bit wide for my application (where the bearing sat), I had to take a thick piece of metal and burn a hole in it so the tool had something to press on when pulling the bearing It worked very well and for this price I would recommend it to anyone.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Mostly ok, but...

Pilot bering tool for tools and equipment

I've tried everything to remove the pilot bering, even removing grease. I didn't succeed with this method. Autozone lets us borrow their tool for free, but the tool they have isn't small enough for my Bering. That's why I chose this remedy. What really worked was I was able to remove the bering but it cracked and shattered into pieces. The tip of the tool was also destroyed. I might be able to substitute something with this advice if I need to use this tool again.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Something different

Job not done: puller

Application - Pilot bushing on a small Chevy engine block. This tool was useless to remove the bushing. Didn't stick to the sleeve, kept slipping out. The tool never broke, just didn't work as advertised. The "teeth" look like they were roughly cast and never trimmed to ensure a good grip on anything. Solution: Since the guide bushing was replaced, I didn't care what condition it came out in. A 5/8" threaded bolt that cuts into the pilot bushing. In the end, when it hit the bottom, it slightly…
