Review on IRobot Roomba Self Emptying Robot Vacuum by Sarah Codina

Revainrating 5 out of 5

My Best Roomba in the Vacuums Category

I bought the original Roomba when it was released in late 2002. literally a week before they released the "name your rooms” view feature and self-empty the trash option. I was very disappointed, but the 980 was definitely the best Roomba robot I've had to date. I liked seeing where the cleaning went, but it seems to have missed a lot of areas for no apparent reason. I decided I had to wait a few years to upgrade to a self-cleaning model and I'm glad I did. The j7+ homebase fits under one of my messy closets (the previous self-cleaning container was too big to live in) and while it still depicts my home (so I haven't been able to name the rooms yet), I can say it does a game changer. It's MUCH quieter than the 980. My hardwood floors and carpets looked like they'd changed after just one pass through the kitchen, and of course it wants to cover more floor than the 980, which often takes half (or less) to stop and do the work for declared done. my ground floor. It looks like the j7+ wants to do all the floor unless it gets stuck under the closet in my dining room (which both Roomba's do all the time, unless I barricade the area). The J7+ hasn't sent me photos of any obstacles yet, but it's performed well on the tassels and high-pile water-absorbent mats I keep at the door for my dog. My dog doesn't shed and I haven't seen him hit j7+ yet because luckily I don't have to touch anything (yet). But like I said, it handles all my carpets just fine, despite what another reviewer said about its poor suction. I will update more as I use more features but for now I'm delighted with this Roomba.
