Review on MOOG 515061 Wheel Bearing Assembly by Ronnie Dabolt

Wheel bearing assembly of questionable quality

Good hub, appears to be of high quality. This is Federal Mogul's new Moog, made in China. Fits easily on a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 and has a nice blue wire and connector on the ABS sensor. Let's see how long this lasts. ***Update in a few weeks: The first case has arrived, the quality seems to be normal. The second hub came, it was disassembled by the factory so it was replaced. The third hub came, it was assembled normally but there were machining marks on the mounting shoulder. All three hubs were in their original factory packaging; All three hubs were packaged slightly differently; All three hubs had different factory labels (except they all came from China). The ABS cable is questionable; On one hub, the cable came close to the brake rotor and the cable insulation cured at a shockingly low temperature (considering the insulation sleeve options). Despite years of use, none of the original ABS cables had the slightest heat hardness. I have manufactured and shipped products from China and the obvious differences mean that Moog does not have strict quality controls on these jacks. I assume that at least one will fail prematurely. The Moog ball joints and tie rods still seem fine, but not these wheel bearing assemblies. Next time I'll use Timken or SKF.
